We transform contaminated wastewater with                  cost-effective, novel technology

Key advantages of contaminant removal

Effluents from textile dyeing processes contain dyes, mordants, auxiliaries and harmful heavy metal ions. These are difficult to remove using traditional wastewater treatment technologies. Their accumulation in bodies of water can reduce light permeability, which impacts photosynthesis and lowers the oxygen in water so is harmful to the environment and human health. Conventional treatments to remove contaminants have several drawbacks: a large consumption of reagents, the generation of excessive quantities of sludge, prolonged treatment times, low removal efficiency and a high cost. In contrast our treatment technologies are fast, efficient and cost-effective.

Company background

Our technologies have been developed over the past 10 years by leading scientists led by Oxford University and the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS).  International bodies such as the World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and Colciencias have supported this work. Through Nanofique Limited, these technologies are available for the benefit of our customers and the environment.

Company focus and scope

We work with manufacturers in the denim sector where much of our technology was originally tried and tested and we are now developing our products for other manufacturers in the garment sector.

Sustainability

Our aim is to achieve cost-effective 'cradle to cradle' water recycling in the garment sector without the production of harmful sludge. This will reduce the contamination of surface water as well as leaving valuable water for other vital needs.

Sustainability and the reduction in their water footprint are of growing importance to our customers, retail brands, governments and local communities. Nanofique Ltd will contribute to the achievement of these shared goals.
